Alison Wallace, of Powell Butte, won the Oregon Make it with Wool competition in the senior division, ages 17 to 24. She will represent the state at a national competition in Scottsdale, Ariz., this week.

Wallace has been sewing since she was 9 and has entered items in previous contests, according to a press release from the Oregon Sheep Growers Association, which sponsors the contest. The contest was held Dec. 3 in Sunriver.
