Nina Mary Harper (Thompson) age 87, passed away on Feb. 24, 2012.

She was born in What Cheer, Iowa, one of nine children. Nina was married to Carl C. Harper, in Santa Monica, CA, on June 18, 1949, and after 46 years of marriage became a widow.

Nina was a very loving mother, homemaker, wife, and grandmother. She loved all children. Working as a play yard attendant at the local elementary school in Westchester, CA, she later became a teacher’s aide and continued to be involved with elementary children until retirement.

In 1996, she moved to Bend, OR, to be with her family and watch her grandson grow up. Nina loved to watch him perform his musical talents while in elementary, middle, and high school.

Nina is survived by son, Carl and wife, Kellie; son, Earl; daughter, Nina; and grandson, Shane.

Services will be held at Deschutes Memorial Chapel, 63875 N. Hwy 97 Bend OR, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2.
