Average gas price in state hits $4 a gallon

PORTLAND — Oregon’s average gasoline price has hit $4.

The AAA organization said the per-gallon price rose 2.5 cents over the past week and reached a level not seen since 2008.

The AAA’s survey shows the national average is $3.85, and prices are at record levels for the time of the year. The AAA says it expects the national average to peak at about $4.25.

The organization said the price of gasoline has hit $4 in eight states and the District of Columbia.
