• Central Oregonians capture state titles: Two boys gymnasts from Bend’s Acrovision Sports Center won all-around state titles this past weekend in the USA Gymnastics Men’s Oregon State Championships. The event was staged at the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland.

Acrovision’s Blaine Davis took first among boys ages 10 and 11 in Level 7 with an all-around score of 91.6 points. He had the top score in all six apparatus events (floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars, high bar and vault). With a score of 87.6, Acrovision’s Travis Fields took top honors among boys age 12 and older in Level 6. He was first in floor exercise, parallel bars and high bar, and he tied for first in the still rings. Another Acrovision gymnast, Nate Jacobson, was second among boys ages 10 and 11 in Level 5.

In the girls Oregon state gymnastics championships for optional girls and Oregon State Invitational for compulsory girls, Acrovision’s Alexis Fischer won the all-around in the Level 4 Junior C division, Meagan Markle placed second in the Level 8 Junior (ages 14-15) division in the all-around, and Cameron Loxley was third in the Level 5 Child division all-around. By virtue of her finish, Markle will be one of eight gymnasts to represent the state in regional competition.
