PORTLAND — Boring, Oregon, has met its match in Dull, Scotland.
The two have agreed to be sister communities — mostly for fun and publicity.
The twinning was the idea of a tourist from Scotland, Elizabeth Leighton, who traveled earlier this year through the Clackamas County town named after homesteader William Boring.
A few emails later the two communities declared their sistership. Boring leaders plan to sell “Boring and Dull” T-shirts.
Boring has a population of 8,000. Dull has a population of 84 and a possibly Gaelic name from centuries ago.
