ESTACADA — Madras throttled Estacada for the second time in two weeks Thursday, scoring nine runs in the first inning, piling up 20 hits en route to a 22-1 Tri-Valley Conference softball road victory.

The game was ended after five innings via the 10-run rule. It was the third win in a row and fifth in six games for the White Buffaloes, including a 22-2 romp over Estacada in Madras on April 14.

Natalie Martin was among the standouts of Thursday’s game for the White Buffaloes, going four for four at the plate with a triple, a double, three RBIs and a stolen base.

Martin also was the winning pitcher, scattering five hits — all singles — over five innings. She struck out one batter and walked four, and she stranded eight Ranger base runners.

“Natalie pitched pretty well,” said Madras coach Shawna McConnell, who noted that the game was played in wet and slick conditions on Estacada’s artificial-surface field. “She got a lot of ground balls and pop-ups, and our defense stepped it up behind her.”

The White Buffaloes played errorless ball.

Others contributing to a 20-hit Madras attack included Shelby Mauritson (three for three, triple, five RBIs), TaSheena George (three for three, four RBIs) and Cheyenne Parsons (three for three, double). Caitlin Hulsey and Keely Brown added two hits apiece for the White Buffaloes.

Madras (11-6 overall, 6-2 TVC) is back on the road today for a league game against Molalla.
