Telfer has respect, clout

I have known Chris Telfer for close to 30 years on both a professional and personal basis. Her defining characteristics are integrity and competence combined with an outstanding work ethic. She brings those qualities to the Oregon State Senate, along with the skills honed by years as a certified public accountant.
Telfer knows the issues facing small business owners because she is one. Telfer knows how to examine state agency budgets and read their financial statements. To the dismay of some bureaucrats, that skill has led her to discover and expose hidden slush funds that could be used to sustain public services without acceding to agency requests for additional funding.
Telfer ran a very creditable and competitive statewide race for state treasurer. A rare accomplishment for an east-side-of-the-mountains political figure. That, along with her undeniable skills in the arena of budgeting and appropriations, have garnered her respect and clout in Salem.
She will use that respect and that clout to address the legislative issues important to Central Oregonians, such as expanding Oregon State University-Cascades Campus to a full four-year institution.
Telfer is an exceptional representative of our community and I urge you to vote for her in May.
