GRANTS PASS — Fire has destroyed much of the Grange hall in Grants Pass, and firefighters say there’s reason to think it was set.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports the fire at the Rogue River Valley Grange building was reported about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Mike Shaw of the Rural/Metro Fire Department said in a statement that wind quickly fanned the fire, and it took about 40 minutes to get it under control.

The fire department says there were signs that “could lead investigators to think that this fire was intentionally set” but didn’t say what they were.
