Robert Dean Zimmerman, age 60, of Bend, passed away September 13, 2012, of prostate cancer at the Hospice House at Partners In Care, in Bend.

He was born in Gordon, NE, to Robert and Violet Zimmerman. At the age of four, the family then moved to Yakima Valley, WA, where he spent most of his childhood until the age of fifteen, when his family then moved to Fossil, OR, where he graduated high school class of 1970.
Through his working life, Robert began working for the Kinzua Mill near Fossil, OR. He then moved to Prineville, OR, where he spent 32 years working for Clear Pine Molding Inc., in addition to receiving his journey certificate from Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, through Central Oregon Community College.
Robert married Cheryl Hall in 2003, and together enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and hunting.
Their mutual love for the outdoors led them to travel and find employment these past five years at Crater Lake National Park, Death Valley National Park and Willamette National Forrest. The focus of Robert’s life was his love for the outdoors, kindness and hard work.
Surviving him, are his wife, Cheryl of Bend; two brothers, David of Athena, OR, and Randy of Condon, OR; stepson, Richard of Bend; and stepdaughter, Jennifer of Las Vegas.
Preceded by, his father, Robert passed in 1970; his brother, Ron passed 1989; and his mother, passed in 2000.
