Cycling
• Trebon rides to victory in Colorado: Bend professional cyclist Ryan Trebon won the UCI men’s elite/U23 race at the Boulder Cup cyclocross event, staged Sunday at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colo. Trebon just edged out Daniel Summerhill, of Englewood, Colo., for the victory. Trebon finished the race in 59 minutes, 54.105 seconds, while Summerhill was timed in 59:54.163. James Driscoll, of Winooski, Vt., was third in 59:55.766. Another Bend resident, Barry Wicks, took 19th place in a field of 51 finishers.
Disc golf
• COCC course open: The disc golf course at Central Oregon Community College’s Bend campus is now open for play. The course, which had been closed during drier months due to fire risk, reopened Oct. 19. The first tee can be found just north of the school library. The course is open to the public, and players may park in the school parking lot near the first tee box.

Running
• Central Oregon man wins marathon: Ian Sharman, of Bend, won the Tri-Cities Marathon in Richland, Wash., on Sunday. Sharman covered the 26.2-mile course, which also went into the cities of Kennewick and Pasco, in 2 hours, 35 minutes, 17 seconds. He defeated 176 other finishers to win the race. The runner-up crossed the finish line more than eight minutes behind Sharman, who also won the event in 2009.
• Bend woman wins Monster Dash: Bend resident Kimber Mattox was the overall winner of the inaugural Monster Dash on Sunday in Bend. Mattox, a former distance runner at Willamette University in Salem and the University of Oregon, covered the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 2 seconds. She defeated the runner-up and first male finisher, Nic Ballard, of Bend, by 52 seconds. Bend residents Rigo Ramirez and Ben Brockman, timed in 19:11 and 19:28, respectively, were the second- and third-place male finishers. Bend’s Mary Wellington (19:42) and Denise Borossa (20:25) rounded out the top three women.
