Barry Lawrence Rosenow, the self proclaimed” Last Curious Soul” succumbed to cancer peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Nov.12.

Barry was born May 5, 1948, in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Phyllis (Piepenburg) Rosenow and Lawrence Rosenow. Barry spent his childhood in Litchfield. Graduating from Litchfield High and moving to Minneapolis, he became a proud ”Gopher” at the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the University Marching Band and the Symphony while obtaining an Electronic Engineering degree. Barry worked for several companies including Honeywell, Admiral and Tektronics. One of Barrys most meaningful and enjoyable jobs was working at Pearl Buck Center in Eugene, Oregon, with the handicapped. It was where he met Marji, the love of his life, in 1981. Barry and Marji married in 1995.

Barry enjoyed hiking his favorite mountain trails, city league volleyball and softball, trivia, crossword puzzles, friendly” games of poker or other sorts, visiting with neighbors and friends and anything to do with electronics and problem solving. Barry especially enjoyed spending time with the numerous nieces and nephews that were a constant part of his world.

Barry is survived by his wife, Marji Siebers of Bend; his mother, Phyllis Rosenow; brother, Greg Rosenow and wife, Sue; and his sister, Sandra Rosenow, all of Minnesota; son, Andrew Rosenow and daughter, Jill Barnaby of Eugene, Oregon; four grandchildren; several brothers and sisters-in- law, and those nieces and nephews that so enriched his life. Barry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Rosenow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family To Family Benefit Inc., PO Box 7794, Springfield, Oregon 97475.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
