Doris V. Ray of Redmond, Oregon, formerly of Beaverton, Oregon, died December 12, 2012, of age-related causes. A Celebration of Life will be held in Portland, at a future date.

Doris Virginia Featherston was born in Ontario, Oregon, on December 31, 1925, the youngest of the eleven children of Frank L. and Pearl E. Willoughby Featherston. She graduated from Vale Union High School.

In July of 1946, she married John A. Ray Jr; they later divorced.

During her marriage, Doris was a homemaker. In her forties, she began a second career as a medical receptionist. She volunteered for several organization, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years. She enjoyed snow skiing, gardening and traveling, especially to Europe. She moved to Redmond, in 1999.

She was predeceased by all her siblings and their spouses. She is survived by daughter, Rhonda McLain and husband, Mac; son, Rodney Ray; grandson, Rian Burke; granddaughter, Michelle Shelenski, and husband, Greg; step-grandchildren, Chris McLain and wife, Kim Matulef, and Alison Heath and husband, Michael; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario, OR.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Hospice of Redmond.
