John Robert Blaylock, age 51, died December 20, 2012 in Bend, OR.

John was born in San Jose, CA, and spent his early years near San Jose before moving to Redmond, OR with his family in 1970. He graduated from Redmond High School in 1979, and later attended Central Oregon Community College.

John worked most of his adult life as a concrete finisher. He has lived in La Pine for the past 10 years, after having lived in Nevada, California, Alaska, and for a brief time recently, in North Dakota.

John met Vicki Schwartz in California and they enjoyed a loving relationship for more than 20 years. He was like a father to Vicki’s daughter, Keeley Forbes.

John loved the outdoors, and trout fishing was a pastime he thoroughly enjoyed. He also liked to ski at Mt. Bachelor. He touched many people in his life, reaching out to help his friends and neighbors. He made friends wherever he went, and will be remembered for his smile.

John is survived by his loving spouse, Vicki Schwartz of La Pine; his mother and step-father, Nancy and Albert Roberts of Bend; his daughter, Amber Lucke of Gridley, CA; two brothers and their wives, Tom and Loles Blaylock of Marina del Rey, CA, and Terry and Jane Blaylock of Bend.

He is also survived by Vicki’s daughter and her husband, Keeley and Gary Forbes of La Pine; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father, Donald Frederick Blaylock.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 26, from 4-7 p.m. at Pine Forest Grange, 63214 Boyd Acres Road, Bend. Food would be welcome. Please call 541-306-1079 for more information.
