5 p.m. on DISC, ‘‘Skywire Live With Nik Wallenda’’ — Nik Wallenda of the famed Wallenda family, known as the ‘‘king of the high wire,’’ will attempt to traverse the Grand Canyon without using a harness. Wallenda tightrope-walks, untethered, higher than he’s ever attempted before at 1,500 feet above the Little Colorado River — a height greater than that of the Empire State Building.

9 p.m. on 5, 8, ‘‘Crossing Lines’’ — Kicking off with a special two-hour premiere, this drama series follows a unit mandated by the International Criminal Court to investigate cross-border crimes and bring global criminals to justice. The series stars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Gabriella Pession, Moon Dailly, Richard Flood and Tom Wlaschiha.

9 p.m. on 7, ‘‘Masterpiece Mystery!’’ — With DS Hathaway on holiday, Inspector Lewis (Kevin Whately) is assigned a new partner (Babou Ceesay) to investigate the discovery of an elderly man’s body in a field. Finding that the man had already been embalmed, the inquiry leads to a funeral home and those connected to it, including one of Lewis’ former colleagues. Peter Davison (‘‘Doctor Who’’) guest stars in the new episode ‘‘Inspector Lewis, Series VI: The Ramblin’ Boy.’’

9 p.m. on LIFE, ‘‘Drop Dead Diva’’ — Fans battled for and won a fifth season of this charming dramedy. Tonight’s season premiere, aptly titled ‘‘Back From the Dead,’’ picks up where Season 4 left off, with Jane (Brooke Elliott) searching for her fiance, Owen (Lex Medlin), after he saw her share a kiss with Grayson (Jackson Hurst) moments before their wedding. Jane also gets a new guardian angel: Paul (Justin Deeley), who takes over when Luke (Carter MacIntyre) returns to heaven.

10 p.m. on LIFE, ‘‘Devious Maids’’ — Executive produced by Eva Longoria and her ‘‘Desperate Housewives’’ boss Marc Cherry, this new nighttime soap centers on a quintet of smart and sassy housekeepers chasing their dreams while working for Beverly Hills’ most prominent families. Roselyn Sanchez, Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci star.
