Precision Castparts Corp., the parent company of Redmond’s PCC Schlosser, has acquired a California company that makes fittings for commercial and military aircraft for $600 million, the companies announced Wednesday.

The purchase of Permaswage, headquartered in Gardena, Calif., is about the 10th acquisition Precision Castparts has made in about the last year, according to its 2013 annual report, which was released May 30.

Based in Portland, Precision Castparts employs about 28,500 people in 191 manufacturing facilities worldwide, according to its website. The company, generally, makes metal components and products for aerospace, power and industrial customers.

PCC Schlosser, which operates in a 52,000-square-foot plant on Northeast Hemlock Avenue, makes titanium components for aircraft frames and engines, missiles and other commercial applications, according to its website. The company employed about 200 as of spring 2012, according to Economic Development for Central Oregon’s 2012 list of top employers.
