Catch Marv and Rindy at Maragas this Saturday
Published 5:00 am Friday, July 5, 2013
Marv and Rindy Ross are best known as the couple at the core of Quarterflash, the Portland-based band behind the 1980s hit “Harden My Heart.” Before they were that, though, they were teachers in Bend, where they helmed a band called Jones Road (no relation to the current Bend rock band of the same name).
And after Quarterflash, Marv and Rindy fronted The Trail Band, a traditional Americana group created by commission from the state of Oregon.
In other words, there’s more to Marv and Rindy Ross than “Harden My Heart” and Quarterflash. (Though they did put that band name — as well as their own names — on their 2008 album “Goodbye Uncle Buzz.”)
Anyway, history lesson over. Let’s move to the present, more specifically Saturday, when Marv and Rindy will perform in the serene setting of Maragas Winery north of Terrebonne. Bring the kids and let ’em run around. Also, bring some blankets or low-backed chairs and sit around while the kids run around. You can bring a picnic though food will be available for purchase. But be polite and buy your drinks there.
