Judy Louise McDevitt of Redmond, Oregon, passed away peacefully at her home August 10, 2013, on her 70th birthday, after a six and a half year battle with multiple Myeloma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1720 NW 19th St., in Redmond. The recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., also at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Officiating clergy will be Father Leo Weckerle and Father Todd Unger.

Judy was born August 10, 1943 in Redmond, Oregon, to Harry and Margaret (Downs) Kissler. Judy spent her life living and working in Redmond, Oregon, graduating from Redmond Union High School in 1961. She worked as a dispatcher at Central Electric Power Cooperative for 30 years, retiring in 2005.

The loves of her life were her Catholic faith, family and friends. She enjoyed trips in her R.V., especially to the coast, Rogue River, Umpqua and John Day Rivers.

Throughout her ordeal, Judy made many friends at St. Charles Cancer Center and at Hospice of Redmond. The family would like to thank Dr. Boone and all the nurses at the Cancer Center, and the nurses and providers at the hospice center for the love and exceptional care she was given. She endured two bone marrow transplants at O.H.S.U. during this time.

She leaves behind her husband and soul mate of 20 years, Patrick McDevitt; her sister, Tonia Cain; two stepchildren, Shawna (husband Larry) Knutson and Ryan (wife Stephany) McDevitt. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Cameron and Jacob; nieces, Deann Cain and Terry Kremer, and nephew, Bob Cain. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Everyone who ever knew Judy will always remember her wonderful, warm smile that never left her face. She exuded love and happiness to everyone she ever met.
