The new channel comes as the Fox network re-brands some of its sports programming.

It will be available on channel 35 for standard-definition TV, and channel 635 for high-definition TV, according to BendBroadband spokeswoman Shelby Little.

Fox Sports 1 will be crucial for University of Oregon and Oregon State University sports fans.

The Oregon Ducks’ Aug. 31 season-opening football game against Nicholls State University is slated to air on the channel, as is the Oregon State Beavers’ Sept. 14 game against the University of Utah.

The Nov. 29 Civil War rivalry game between the two Oregon schools is also set to air on Fox Sports 1.

The new channel will offer 24-hour sports coverage, with programming that includes college sports, Major League Baseball, Ultimate Fighting and NASCAR, as well as sports-themed talk shows, according to the company’s website.

BendBroadband’s addition of Fox Sports 1 comes a year after the Bend company secured airing rights for the Pac-12 Network, a channel that airs West Coast college sports events, including coverage of the Oregon schools.

Anyone with questions about the new channel, or any of BendBroadband’s programming, is encouraged to visit the company’s website, bendbroadband.com. They can also call the company at 541-382-5551.

In addition, BendBroadband keeps a blog that updates customers about programming changes and other services. The blog can be seen by visiting blog.bendbroadband.com/residential.
