June 15, 1955 – Sept. 22, 2013

This world lost a great person to cancer on September 22. Doug fought an amazing battle. He was truly inspirational to all who had the privilege of meeting him. He was 58 years young.

Doug was born in Santa Rosa, CA June 15, 1955 to Walt and Audrey Lefor. His parents moved the family to Bend, OR in 1969. Doug graduated from Bend High School in 1974. He married Susie Ellingson in 1975. He then joined the Air Force and was stationed in California. He and his young family relocated back to Bend in 1982.

He married the second time in 1999 to Theresa Maddox of Bend. The two of them lived in La Pine and then moved to Christmas Valley.

Doug loved writing his own music and playing his guitars. He loved playing for his family and friends. He was a pilot and loved flying; he enjoyed the outdoors, sailing, fishing and snow skiing. He was a hard worker and an adventurous soul. Doug had many professions, including working for Mt. Bachelor, to driving truck across country, to owning his own businesses.

He was so loved and will be greatly missed by his mother, Audrey Lefor; sister, Julie McArthur; brother, Randy Lefor; many nieces and a nephew; the mother of his children, Susie Ellingson; daughters, Danielle Wallace, Krysta Lefor; his grandchildren; and his best friend, Matt Patterson. He is survived by his spouse, Theresa Maddox. His father, Walter Lefor, preceded him in death.

Dougs family is very thankful for the loving care and support from Partners in Care Hospice.

A private celebration will be held at a later date.
