Fern A. Haugen of Eugene, OR, died December 23, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born May 2, 1926, to John and Lillie (Saathoff) Shuhart in Guthrie, Minnesota. Fern attended and graduated high school from Benidji High School in Minnesota.She worked as a banker for over 30 years. On February 14, 1970, she married James Haugen, they were married for 42 years before his passing in 2012.

Fern attended Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond and was a loyal member.

Fern is survived by her step daughters, Lynne (John) Besbekos and Joyce (Derek) Arita; granddaughters, Lauren and Jillian Gomez; her sisters, Lillie Mae Lermo and Ethel and Larry Lermo and their family of Eugene, OR.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Haugen.

A funeral will be held December 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., at Redmond Memorial Chapel, with a burial at Redmond Memorial Cemetery to follow.
