Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, 82: A former president of Sierra Leone who oversaw the end of the country’s brutal civil war. Died Thursday in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Joel Brinkley, 61: The Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter spent more than two decades at The New York Times, where he displayed range, rigor and lucid writing as a White House correspondent. Died Tuesday in Washington.
Abby Singer, 96: A Harlem-born production manager and assistant director worked primarily in television from the 1950s through the ’90s. Died Thursday in Los Angeles.
