Pints for Polio pub walk set for Saturday in Bend

Published 12:00 am Friday, March 28, 2014

On Saturday, the Pints for Polio pub walk will take over Bend.

Here’s how it works: Between 2 and 6 p.m., check in upstairs at The Summit Saloon (125 N.W. Oregon Ave.). Get a commemorative “End Polio Now” mug, tasting tickets and a map to participating pubs.

Then head to those pubs and enjoy 6-ounce tastes of craft beer. Each pub will serve you one 6-ounce taste, though you are welcome to purchase more beer or food. Some pubs may have alternatives such as wine, sangria, cider or gluten-free beer.

Don’t forget to celebrate your good deed: Supporting the Rotary Club of Greater Bend, which has prioritized raising funds to help eradicate polio. All of the proceeds will be donated to The Rotary Foundation in support of global polio eradication.

Participating locations include The Summit, Silver Moon, 10 Barrel, The Growler Guys, Bend Brewing Co., Riverbend, McMenamins, Deschutes, Crux, Cascade Lakes, Broken Top Bottle Shop, Worthy, Brew Werks, Boneyard, Bridge 99, GoodLife, Rat Hole, The Wine Shop and Three Creeks Brewing in Sisters.

Find more information on the event and register at www.pintsforpolio.org. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Cheers!
