Another Saturday in April means another show at the recently revived Pakit Liquidators, where owners and show-throwers are getting a head start on a summer of transition with a few outdoor concerts in the dicey weather of spring.
This weekend’s edition features three bands, two of which you probably already know: The Autonomics, a blues-punk-rock trio that started in Bend and now is rising through the ranks in Portland, and All You All, local purveyors of experimental electro-dance-rock.
The other, you may not. A Happy Death is a Portland band that just put out its debut album, “Introducing: A Happy Death,” on cassette tape. Because cassette revival, y’all! But seriously, this band blazes. “Introducing” is a frenetic, mudhole-stomping trip through gritty garage-rock, skittish blues-punk and sneering psychedelic shredgaze. They sound like the legendary English post-punk band Clinic gone feral, or even their buds The Autonomics if they’d been raised on the seminal “Nuggets” psych-rock box set rather than the Anthology of American Folk Music. Get scorched!
The Autonomics, with A Happy Death and All You All; 8 p.m. Saturday; $5; Pakit Liquidators, 903 S.E. Armour Road, Bend; art@riseuppresents.com.
