Free Fishing Weekend this Saturday and Sunday in Oregon
Published 12:00 am Wednesday, June 4, 2014
Free Fishing Weekend in Oregon is this Saturday and Sunday, and for those two days anglers will not need a fishing license to fish, crab or clam anywhere in the state.
All other regulations apply, including bag limit and size restrictions. Anglers who already have a combined tag for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and halibut are encouraged but not required to use it. Also, anglers are not required to purchase a Columbia River Basin Endorsement.
For new anglers, ODFW and its partners will sponsor Free Fishing Weekend events throughout the state. Caldera Springs in Sunriver will host a kids fishing event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. For more information, call Gary Gehlert at 541-593-6141.

Free Fishing Weekend is always the first full weekend in June, but it’s always free fishing for kids younger than 14.
