Small bites

— In case you missed it, the venerable Pine Tavern has been sold to Bill McCormick, co-founder of the McCormick & Schmick’s chain of seafood restaurants. McCormick, a Portlander who has maintained a second home in Bend since 1991, said he will make only subtle changes to the restaurant, keeping its name, its iconic ponderosa pines and its famous scones. The Pine Tavern has been a Bend institution since 1936. Open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 967 N.W. Brooks St., Bend; 541-382-5581, www.pinetavern.com.

— Rio Distinctive Mexican Cuisine has opened a taqueria in Redmond to complement its restaurants in Sisters and Madras. It is now serving lunch and dinner. Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. 1106 S.W. Highland Ave., Redmond; 541-504-6148, www.riosisters.com.
