Small bites

— In case you missed it, the venerable Pine Tavern has been sold to Bill McCormick, co-founder of the McCormick & Schmick’s chain of seafood restaurants. McCormick, a Portlander who has maintained a second home in Bend since 1991, said he will make only subtle changes to the restaurant, keeping its name, its iconic ponderosa pines and its famous scones.
