Farm vehicle causes Prineville power outage

A power pole with two transformers was broken Tuesday, causing residences between Grimes and Gerke roads in Prineville to lose power.

Crook County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched around 5 p.m. to the broken power pole in the northbound lane of Lamonta Road. A harrowbed, a farm vehicle used to move hay, driven by Daniel Stinewalt, 65, caught one of the power lines and caused the breakage. Both traffic lanes were closed for an hour until Pacific Power workers were able to clear the area and restore power. No citations were issued in the incident.
