Paul Amos, 88: One of three brothers who founded the Aflac insurance company nearly 60 years ago and the man behind its huge success in selling policies at workplaces. Died Wednesday in Columbus, Georgia.
Louis Brown Jr., 90: Father of O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, who was slashed to death in 1994, and co-founder with another daughter, Denise, of a charitable foundation in Nicole’s name to raise awareness of domestic violence and increase funding for assistance. Died Thursday in Southern California.
Volodymyr, 78: Head of Ukraine’s Orthodox Church for more than two decades, leading it through the tumultuous post-Soviet period, after first serving in the Russian church’s missions in Jerusalem and Geneva. Died Saturday.
