Frank Everett Engstrom died on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his home, surrounded by family. Frank was born in New York City and grew up in West Englewood, NJ. His parents were Jessie Catherine and Frank Leon Engstrom, and he had one brother, Robert.

Frank graduated from Bucknell University, Pennsylvania, with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a Lieutenant JG and Naval Aviator during WWII, flying Corsairs and Hellcats. He worked at the Civil Air Patrol field, and later founded Air and Hydraulic Equipment Company in Hackensack, NJ; and was a partner with Versa Products.

Frank was a loving husband to his wife, Jean for 67 years, and father to four children; Jill, Richard, Roger and Amy. He was also grandfather to six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

He enjoyed traveling throughout the country with his family, and a game of golf with friends, as well as skiing and camping. Frank also wrote his autobiography, titled: “An American Odessey.”

With a strong leadership, vision and faith, Frank was a main facilitator of the building of the Church of the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Sisters, Oregon.
