“We didn’t have a lot of space,” said Monica Platt, referring to their former location. “A lot of our inventory was in the back stacked up, so we couldn’t have it on display.”

The move to 3290 S. U.S. Highway 97 doubled the size of the dealership, which sells Kubota tractors and other agricultural equipment, to 10,000 square feet.

The couple bought the dealership in June 2011, and have seen sales increase about 30 percent in the past three years.

They purchased the former Kid’s Zone location in the summer of 2013 and hired SunWest Builders in February to construct the new dealership. The project cost about $1.2 million and was completed Monday.

Monica Platt said the move allows the company to diversify its sales and service operations. It gives Midstate Power Products space for an equipment rental program, used equipment and consignment sales and new power tool and Kubota construction equipment product lines.

“This is a great thing for us,” she said. “We not only have the bigger area to do the things we want to do, but we also have something that means something to us. It’s our building, our space … It gives us that security and pride of ownership.”
