Gene and Janet (Jenks) Snippen, of Bend, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family celebration at Awbrey Glen Golf Club in Bend.
The couple were married June 14, 1964, at First United Methodist Church in Albany. They have three children, Brian (and Cory), of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lori (and Chris) Hamilton, of Portland, and John (and Rena), of Bend; and seven grandchildren.
The couple worked as realtors for Coldwell Bank Morris Real Estate and retired in 2008. Mr. Snippen worked as a teacher and administrator for Bend-La Pine Schools for 12 years. He is a former president of the Bend Rotary Club. Mrs. Snippen worked as a business teacher at Bend High School for 30 years. She is a former president of the EA Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a member of Altrusa and the Soroptimist Club.
They have lived in Central Oregon for 49 years.
