April 15, 1971 – June 28, 2014

Jonathan Putney of Bend, OR made his transition June 28, 2014. He died after a brave battle with brain cancer.

Jon was born in Eugene, OR April 15, 1971. He attended Eugene Christian School from K through

6th, then Spencer Butte Jr. High and South Eugene, graduating in 1989. During his junior and senior years, he was on the golf team that won a State Championship.

Jon attended Linfield College 1989-1994, where his freshman golf team went to Nationals. After Linfield Jon moved to Bend.

Jon lived in Bend for 20 years, enjoying golf, skiing, biking, fishing, concerts and multitudes of friends. He mainly worked in the golf/resort/restaurant industries.

He is survived by his daughter, Lily; father, Jim Putney; mother, Jackie Grosse; sisters, Jill Putney and Jamie Putney; four nephews; and many other extended family members.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m. August 2, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, 680 NE Bond St., in Bend.
