Grand opening — Pop’s Place, operated by former Pilot Butte Drive-In manager Sean Baldwin, has taken over the former Spicy Lips Cocina Grill in northeast Bend. A grand-opening celebration is planned from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow. Serving pizzas, tacos, burritos and Nathan’s hot dogs, the eatery calls itself an “Ameri-Mex-Itali express cafe.” Usual hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. 2625 NE Butler Market Road, Bend; 541-330-3955, www.facebook.com.

Crawfish season — Sweet Saigon has dubbed itself a “crawfish house” as part of a summerlong promotion that it shares with its sister cafe, Pho Viet. Owner Tan Bo is offering “delicious messy” servings of jumbo crawfish in various styles of Vietnamese sauces, up to two pounds for $14.95. Sweet Saigon also serves an extensive menu of dim sum ($4.25 a dish) Wednesday to Sunday.
