The popular sprayground at Centennial Park in Redmond will close Oct. 5, its last day of operation until May, according to the city of Redmond. Typically the water feature is open from Memorial Day through September, weather dependent.
“This summer saw maintenance challenges which resulted in short closures that greatly emphasized the importance of the facility to the community,” said Public Works Director Bill Duerden in a news release. Twice this summer the sprayground had to be shut down for repairs to its underground infrastructure and earlier this spring a leak was discovered that was repaired before the May opening. Redmond parks crews are also beginning winterization of other park features, including irrigation, restrooms and drinking fountains, Duerden said.
