Robert Ivan Lowe, 63, of Lebanon, passed peacefully at his home on September 11, 2014.
He was born March 24, 1951 in Roseburg, Oregon. He moved from Portland to Lebanon as a child and graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1969. Robert married Pamela Jackson on June 20, 1970 in Albany, Oregon.
Robert attended the University of Oregon Medical School and received his degree as a Radiologic Technician in 1971. Upon graduation from the University, he began his career in Bend, Oregon at St. Charles Medical Center. Bob continued his education in the medical field through the School of Cardiothoracic Perfusion and was employed by Dr. Albert Starr and Dr. James Wood of the Starr-Wood Cardiothoracic Surgery Group in Portland, Oregon. After moving to Lebanon, he was employed by Dr. H. Storm Floten and Dr. Anthony Furnary of the Starr-Wood Cardiothoracic Surgery Group at the McKenzie Willamette Hospital in Springfield, Oregon until January, 2014. He was loved by his family, many friends, and held in highest regard by his professional colleagues.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman and loved any type of fishing, bird hunting and game hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his children, Jennifer Leigh and Jesse Robert; his mother, Virginia Lowe; three grandchildren, Alyssa Shelfer, Cameron Embree, and Jace Embree, all of Lebanon; brothers, Dan Burress of Vancouver, WA, John Stevens of Tri-Cities, WA; sister, Julia Stevens of California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Ivan Lowe; sister, Juanita Snedden; and brother, Tim Burress.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his home near Lebanon. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
