Edna Keefauver

Aug. 27, 1929 – Sept. 22, 2014

In the quiet of the evening, on September 22, 2014 Edna Keefauver went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on August 27, 1929, to Albert W. and Mary A. Slipp in Walla Walla, WA. She was the youngest of 7 children. Her family settled in Eugene, OR where she went to high school and eventually met and married Nelson Keefauver. They were married 61 years.

They made their home in Lacomb, OR where they raised five children: Edna (Glen) Shedd of Jerome, ID; Janice Schwarder of West Richland, WA; James (Lori) Keefauver of Bend, OR; Georganne (Steve) Schmitt of Beaverton, OR; and Margaret (Scott) Daniels of Salem, OR.

Edna and Nelson moved to Bend, OR in 1972. Edna worked for US Bank until the time of her retirement. Edna started every day by reading her Bible. She had many hobbies, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting and was an excellent cook. Edna was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was very active in the church’s seniors group until her health started failing.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren, three greatgreat-grandchildren and one brother.

A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Deschutes Memorial Gardens, 63875 N. Highway 97 Bend, OR 97701.
