Rose Marie Braun (Rosette, Rosie) passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Sunday, February 8, 2015, surrounded by her family at home in Bend (Tumalo), Oregon. She is survived by her loving

husband of 65 years, Jean Pierre, three children (Richard Pierre, Ronald Marcel & Anne Marie), four grandchildren (Melissa, Ryan, Chad & Dustin), three great grandchildren (Mia, Mylee and Jolie), and two brothers (Jacques & Pierre).

Rose was born in Arlon, Belgium. In WWII at the age of 20 she was a war hero during the Battle of the Bulge. Hiding in a cellar with her mother, four siblings, and over 70 civilians and wounded soldiers, she bravely came out waving a white flag letting American soldiers know that civilians were in the cellar and to cease fire. Wounded, she was taken to a Red Cross facility. She met her husband in Luxembourg after the war, and they emigrated to America in 1949. Settling in San Diego, they promptly started their family. They moved to Bend in 1993, building a beautiful home in Tumalo. Her warm smile and beautiful blue eyes drew people to her.

A wonderful cook making everything from scratch, wasting nothing, enjoying entertaining and being the life of the party, it’s no wonder Rosie had so many friends.

We miss you. You will be in our hearts forever. GOD BLESS YOU ROSE!
