PUBLIC LEAGUES

March 31: Complimentary brunch at Juniper Golf Club for the Ladies of the Green women’s golf club at 10 a.m. The Ladies of the Greens play nine-hole tournaments at The Greens at Redmond golf course weekly on Tuesdays through October. Central Oregon Senior Golf Organization: Meets on a Monday each month at golf courses across the region. Series is open to anyone 50 and older with a GHIN #. CLINICS OR CLASSES

Feb. 26: Performance Series Clinic at the Tetherow Golf Academy in Bend begins at 6 p.m. Titleist Performance Institute-certified fitness instructor Chris Cooper, who is a Bend physical therapist, and Dr. Timothy Bollom will host a one-hour clinic on preventing knee injuries. Clinic will include prevention and rehabilitation tips, a question-and-answer session, raffle prizes and refreshments. Cost is $10 and class size is limited. March 21: Golf rules workshop slated at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond. The workshop is one of a series of instructional sessions presented around the state by the Oregon Golf Association. Limited to 40 participants, the workshop is designed for golfers who are familiar with the game and will focus on golf’s more commonly cited rules. TOURNAMENTS

Feb. 28: Rotary Club of Jefferson County’s 23rd annual Cherry Tree Open is a four-person scramble tournament held at Kah-Nee-Ta High Desert Resort near Warm Springs. Shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost is $60 per person and includes net and gross prizes and hole-in-one contest. Field limited to 120 golfers. Registration deadline: Feb. 21. March 28: Cross Country tournament at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville. Individual stroke-play tournament forces golfers to take a new path around Meadow Lakes over 12 holes. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Flighted field includes both gross and net payouts and KP competitions. Cost is $20 plus reduced green fee of $15. March 28: Third Annual Spring Invitational Bestball at Bend Golf and Country Club. Team best ball is open to the public and begins with 10 a.m. shotgun. Cost is $120 per team, and includes golf cart for the first 34 team to RSVP, prizes and hosted beer. Deadline to enter is March 15 and field is limited to 46 teams.
