Joann Elaine Miller

Joann Elaine Miller was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to George E. and Myrtle C. (Morriem) Nelson. She attended Albert Lea High School and upon graduation she moved to Chicago, Illinois. After marrying, she moved to Eugene, Oregon, where she raised her family, later living in Washougal, Washington, and Crane, Oregon, before settling in Bend, over a year and a half ago.
Joann was an administrative assistant when she wasnt running her horse ranch. In 1980, Joann served as president of Base Area #2 Hospital Guild Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon. She served as the president of the Oregon Quarter Horse Association from 1981 1982.
She enjoyed modeling, quilting, making porcelain dolls, arts and crafts, horseback riding, buckaroos and her animals.
Joann is survived by her daughter, Kim (Phil) Kraemer of Bend, Oregon; her son, Michael (May) Edwards of Monroe, Washington; and her youngest daughter, Andrea (Randy) Osborne of Truckee, California; sister, Helen (Bill) Garriott of Merrill, Oregon; four grandchildren, Alex (Amanda) Loomis of Dallas, Texas, Katherine Loomis of Chicago, Illinois, Isaac and Mitchel Osborne of Truckee, California; and two step- granddaughters. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Nelson; and brother, Paul Nelson.
