With a victory in the long jump and a second-place finish in the javelin, Summit’s Camille Weaver racked up 4,005 points to win the heptathlon at the Summit Decathlon-Heptathlon on Saturday.

Weaver, competing in her first heptathlon, posted wins in three of the seven events and added two runner-up performances. Teammate Claire Christensen, who was third in the long jump, finished second in the 13-athlete standings with 3,627 points.

Redmond’s Makenna Conley took third in the 800 and finished seventh in the individual standings, and La Pine’s Sydney Bright, who was ninth in scoring, came in sixth in the javelin.

In the decathlon, six athletes finish with more than 5,400 points — a noteworthy number considering it is the qualifying standard for the New Balance Nationals Outdoor this summer. Thurston’s Grant Shurtliff topped the 18-athlete field with 6,587 points, while Mountain View’s Dantly Wilcox, who won the 110-meter hurdles, took fifth with 5,740 points.
