Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show honors quilters

For the 40th anniversary of Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, the show teamed with Island Batik to honor 28 quilters who have received special recognition as featured quilter, inspirational instructor, machine quilter of the year, or Quilt Show Sunday lecturer.
Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is a non-profit organization founded by Jean Wells Keenan whose mission is to educate and inspire the public about the art of quilting and to enhance the cultural and economic vitality of the schools and community of Sisters and Central Oregon.

Island Batik is a manufacturer and importer of cotton and rayon batik fabrics made in Bali, Indonesia.
The 28 chosen quilters represent the best and most creative work throughout the show’s 40 years, according to an announcement from Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.
The featured quilters are: Joanne Myers, Ruth Ingham, Delores Minson, Sally Hass, Jan Lau, Valori Wells Kennedy, Robin Ryan, Phyllis Johnson, Jean Wells Keenan, Donna Rice, Cathy Moen, Kristin Shields and Carol Webb.
The inspirational instructors are: Lawry Thorn, June Jaeger, Jackie Erickson, Ruth Ingram and Karla Alexander.
The machine quilters are: Lori Gailey, Cindy Young, Hellen Brisson, Tammy MacArthur and Laura Simmons.
The Quilt Show Sunday lecturers are: Gwen Marston, Jean Wells Keenan, Elizabeth Hartman, Alissa Carlton and Angela Walters.

The honored quilters will be special guests at the Ruby Celebration from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 8 at the Sisters High School Auditorium, 1700 McKinney Butte Road. For tickets and information visit www.sistersoutdoorquiltshow.com or call 541-549-0989.
This year’s quilt show will be held July 11 on Cascade Avenue in Sisters. A special exhibit featuring the work of the 2015 Honored Quilters will be on display from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
