– Michael Curtis Denmark Sr. – Michael Curtis Denmark Sr. 64, of Bend passed away on Friday July 10, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 at Lava Lanes of Bend at 12:00 p.m. – Mike was born in Eugene, Oregon on December 15, 1950 to Curtis and Helen (McLeod) Denmark. He graduated from Oakridge High School in 1969. He then went on to graduate from Lane Community College where he studied mechanics and graduated in 1974. – He started working at Hines Lumber Mill in Westfir, Oregon, worked at Pope and Talbot Mill and C.P. Enterprises before moving to Bend in 1982. Mike worked for Arthur Pozzi at Bend Millworks. He then helped build and was the mechanic and supervisor at Oregon Woodworking. In 2005 he became the head mechanic at Lava Lanes where her retired July 1, 2015. – Mike loved hunting, fishing, bowling, trap shooting, boating and football. His favorite thing to do was to be with friends and family, tell stories and play with his beloved dog, Bud. Mike loved his family and friends with every ounce of his soul. He always wanted to do what was right. He never stopped dreaming of winning the lottery and giving away money to those in need. He cherished every moment of his life. – He was preceded in death by his mother; Helen McLeod, daughter; Crissi, brothers; Ron Denmark and Danny Freer. – Mike is survived by his wife, LeaNell (Peanee) Denmark; sons, Travis Denmark of Sisters, Mike Denmark Jr of California; daughter, Stephanie Denmark of Bend; father, Curtis Denmark of Sisters, sisters; Pat Stockwell, Shannon Ficken, Sheila Noreaga, brothers; Dickie Chambers and Bruce Freer. – Memorial contributions can be made to the Mike Denmark Memorial Trust at Chase Bank through Whispering Pines Funeral Home. 185 N.E. 4th Street, Prineville, Oregon 97754. 541-416-9733.
