Jan. 3, 1944 – Aug. 15, 2015
Peggy was born in Ellensburg, Wash., to Mayo and Mary Lindsey where she was raised until 1959, when the family moved to Salem, Oregon, to establish M and M Bowl. She then attended North Salem High School where, in her junior year (November, 1960), she met and married Larry J. Haskell and immediately started a family. They raised their children in Astoria, Oregon, where even their childrens friends would call her MOM. She also became a dental assistant. The last five years before her retirement, she taught dental assisting and radiology at Job Corps in Astoria and Clatsop Community College. Three years ago she moved to Redmond, Oregon, full time to enjoy the drier climate. She loved helping things grow; her children, grandchildren, and flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Haskell, her two sisters, Patty and Mary Lou; her three children, Troy, Tara, and Tobi; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Please celebrate her life by making a donation to your local humane society in her name. There will be a celebration of life “Peggys Party” on Saturday Aug. 29 in Astoria at the Maritime Museum, Barbey Maritime Center at 4 p.m.
