Deaths of note from around the world:
Daniel Levins, 61: Dancer sometimes known professionally as Daniel Levans who gained notice as a teenager in Eliot Feld’s acclaimed American Ballet Company and as a principal dancer at American Ballet Theater in the 1970s. Died of a bacterial lung infection Sept. 15 in New York.
C.K. Williams, 78: American poet who won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and was known for extended lines that captured conversation and provided ample room for emotion. Died Sept. 20 at his home in Hopewell, New Jersey, from cancer.
Jeremy Tarcher, 83: Four decades ago he founded the publishing house that bears his name, specializing in nonfiction books on health, psychology and New Age spirituality. Died Sunday at his home in Los Angeles from complications of Parkinson’s disease, his companion, Harriet Stuart, said.
