COIC, High Desert Food & Farm Alliance gets $200,000 grant

A $200,000 grant awarded to the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council and the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance will be used to promote locally raised food and help local farmers and ranchers grow their businesses.

The funds come from the federal and state departments of agriculture.

In a news release, COIC stated the funds will be used to develop events on local farms, and to connect chefs and public agency food buyers with local food producers.
