• High Desert Insurance , 1543 NE Third St., No. 100, Bend, received a grant to create a center for health insurance open enrollment starting Sunday and running through Jan. 31, 2016. The center will provide free help to those searching for health insurance and partner referrals to people registering for the Oregon Health Plan.

• Bucha Buena Kombucha , 1562 NW Elgin Ave., Bend, applied Oct. 22 to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission for a brewery-public house license, which allows the manufacture and sale of malt beverages to wholesalers and the sale of malt beverages, wine and cider for consumption on or off the premises.
