Oct. 29, 1970 – Oct. 22, 2015
Jason Robert Heffner was born in Redmond, Oregon on October 29th, 1970. He grew up in both Redmond and Bend and attended high school at Mountain View before graduating from Redmond High School, class of 1989. Jason attended Blue Mountain Community College where he played baseball for 2 seasons. Soon after, he started his career in paving and also spent many years building houses before becoming a superintendent in the paving industry. Jason worked extremely hard to support his family and friends.
Jason was a very joyful, caring person who lived in Bend for most of his life. Jason was married to his loving wife, Angie, for 21 years. He had three children: his son, Jacob Heff- ner, and daughters, Alex Heffner and LaCosta Dice; and one grandchild, Brantley.
Jason loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed many things, including hunting, fishing and camping. He loved sports. Playing, coaching and watching sports have always been a big part of Jasons life. His passion for baseball and love for the community (kids in particular) led him to become the president of the Bend North Little League. During his tenure, he spent countless hours building four baseball fields with full dugouts, the most important of which is now named Jason Heffner field.
Jason was very proud of all little league, but Bend North in particular. Jason also started and oversaw the project for Mountain Views indoor batting facility, which is called Heff- ner Fieldhouse. Jason Heffner has touched many lives in the Bend community, and will certainly not ever be forgotten.
A celebration of life service will be held at Broken Top Clubhouse on Saturday, November 7th at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the Heffner family has asked that donations be made to the Bend North Little League in Jasons name. The funds will be used for little league scholarships and field improvements at the Jason Heffner field. For more information about making donations, please visit www.bnll.org.
