Yearly home prices up in Bend, Redmond

Median home prices last month in Bend and Redmond showed double-digit increases over December 2014, according to a report released Friday.
In Bend, the median price for a single-family home in December hit $325,000, about 12 percent higher than the median in December 2014, according to The Beacon Report. Last month’s median price was about 1 percent higher than the median in November, according to the report prepared by the Beacon Appraisal Group.

The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.
Bend recorded 210 home sales last month, 68 more than in November and 42 more than December 2014. The number of sales last month in Bend was the highest for the month of December in at least the last five years, according to the report.
In Redmond, the median price came in last month at $223,000, an increase of about 18 percent year over year. However, it was almost 5 percent lower than November’s median price. Redmond saw 74 home sales last month, seven fewer than in November, but 29 more than in December 2014, according to the report.
