There are still five slots available for Writing Ranch’s February retreat to Todos Santos, Mexico, according to instructor and Writing Ranch founder Ellen Waterston.
The seventh annual writing retreat, which takes place Feb. 21-28, costs $1,965 for the full week, or $900 for single-day students. Along with daily workshops, lodging and meals at Serendipity hotel are included in the full-week cost. Attendees are responsible for their own airfare to Cabo san Jose del Cabo airport and ground transport to Todos Santos, according to a news release.
The retreat includes morning Writing Down the Baja sessions, designed for emerging or returning writers looking to improve their craft; and the afternoon Manuscript Lab, which offers writers feedback on their work. Three completed chapters of a prose manuscript or 15 completed poems are required to attend the Manuscript Lab, according to the release.
Guest authors at the retreat include Bruce Berger, author of “The Telling Distance” and “Almost an Island”; journalist and ocean conservationist Gordon Chaplin, author of “Five Fathom Five,” “Dark Wind” and “Fever Coast Log”; and a guest poet writing about the Baja to be announced.
