Larry and His Flask headlines benefit in Bend

After more than a year off the road, local folk-punk heroes Larry and His Flask are getting ready for a March tour that will take them across the country. Florida — and Flogging Molly’s annual Salty Dog Cruise — is the final destination; LAHF will play the March 18-21 cruise alongside Rancid, Frank Turner, Fishbone and more.

But the hometown crowd has been getting its Larry fix, too. The band’s sold-out New Year’s Eve show at The Capitol proved so popular the band added a New Year’s Day set at the venue.

Local fans will get another chance to see the band tonight at Volcanic Theatre Pub — and another opportunity to lend a helping hand. The show is a benefit for former Bend resident Victoria Odinet, a friend of LAHF’s who was involved in a car accident in the U.S. Virgin Islands late last year. A Gofundme page (www.gofundme.com/3yem9qqk) has raised almost $20,000 so far to help pay for Odinet’s medical expenses.

LAHF will headline, along with Acousta Noir and local music collective Third Seven. Comedians Alex Rios, Jennie Macpherson and Caitlin Weierhauser will also perform stand-up sets. The $10 suggested donation, along with money raised through a silent auction and raffle, will go to Odinet’s expenses.

Victoria Odinet’s benefit party with Larry and His Flask, Acousta Noir, Third Seven; 7 p.m. today; $10 suggested donation; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; www.volcanictheatrepub.com or 541-323-1881.
