Home prices down in Bend, up in Redmond

The median price for a single-family home in Bend fell about 2.5 percent last month over December, according to a report released Monday, while the median price in Redmond rose 12 percent.

Bend’s median price dipped to $317,000 in January, or $8,000 below the median price in December, according to The Beacon Report. Last month’s median is about 1.5 percent below the median price for a single-family home in Bend in January 2015, according to the report from the Beacon Appraisal Group.

The median price equals the midpoint, with half the prices above it and half below.

Bend recorded 160 home sales last month, 50 fewer than in December and 40 more than in January 2015.

In Redmond, the median single-family-home price reached $250,000 last month, about $27,000 higher than in December. January’s median price is about 15 percent higher than the median price in January 2014, according to the report.

Redmond recorded 37 home sales last month, 37 fewer than in December, but two more than in January 2015, according to The Beacon Report.
